whats wrong here (hope brake hose)

I have a hope braided hose to fit the olive i had to trim some of the clear coating off the hose
however when I put the olive on an tighten up the silver part ( forgot whats it called) the hose just slides out the olive isn't being compressed

the silver part an olive are all new as the old one broke I took it back to the shop as I thought it was the wrong size but they say its correct

Not sure what you are trying to do but kooks like you have a braided metak hose.



You csnnit out an olivr on it as the braid - woven from s stainless stelkbwires is porous.

The seal is made by a fitting that has a barbed insert that fit inside the hose and is then clamped in place. ....

It doesn't have a barb insert
It's the calliper end of the hose that I m trying to fit

It should have a barb, either an insert or part of the banjo/union.
A pic of the other bits you're trying to join would be good.

Both ends definitely have an insert. They are pigs to get out normally and need a right old yank.
