Most importantly they imported Shimano

It was someone else on here who told me about it, it was at the National Cycling Centre bike jumble.
Someone was telling me how I could remove the seatpost before I'd even finished paying for it! The walk back to the car took 30 minutes as people kept stopping me to ask about it!

The adjustable seatpost is made by Sakae SR, unless anyone else made very similar copies.

Yes it is, it's marked with that. It s a strange design, there's about 2" of backwards / forwards movement!
