Whats the best paint for painting springs?

The spring below is the original from the fork ,painted with dark cherry spray paint from plasti kote as an experiment[fork has 2 new springs]
alloy looks good,near mirror finish in just a few hours with some brasso ,but several more and i'll be happy

When i do the two new ones I'll clean them to the bare metal before applying a primer then a few topcoats
Any advice on whats best [or at least cheapest ]??

plasti kote is about£6.50 ,this fancy stuff £11
Looks like £11 well spent ,lets not skimp on the final stages

Why dont they have Purple??
Mind you ,they do have red and blue ,which when mixed make purple ,hmmm ,am i that flush?
