Whats a reasonable time to wait for bits?

I think it is too early to panic, people can take holidays, be ill, have family emergencies, all more important in their minds than sending stuff out.

It could also be 2nd class post which will take a while, or that persons PC could be out of action.

John suggests getting details like a mobile number or land address before purchase. gives an alternative way of contacting the seller.

There are times when I have been really crap posting something out for various reasons. With work/family and crappy PO hours its easy for a few days to go by where things just overtake you. I do try and communicate though and always answer questions as soon as poss.

This definately applies to me. In fact I'm holding off selling loads of stuff as I've no time for the next two weeks to get near a PO!

Ditto...if I ain't got time to provide a good service then i won't even start listing stuff for sale. I've got another bunch of stuff to shift but need time to deal with it properly and ship it fast.

depends where its coming from and how its been posted.

6 weeks would probably be ok if it was sent via carrier pigeon from say china.

but i think its along wait for somethng from say europe or the US.
have you had any contact from the seller ??

You still waitng too pickle

Chap off this forum, UK to UK. I posted cheque straight away on the 11th Sep as he had no paypal, it was cashed (out of my account) on the 29th Sep. I had a pm on the 29th too saying he hadn't posted it yet. He's not posted on this forum since the 4th. Just a bit annoyed, i don't mind waiting a bit as i know ppl have other things to do, but as far as i'm concerned, once an item has been paid for it's no longer mine and i get it posted out straight away.

Beginning to think I may have been had......

PM still not picked up, and I've sent an email via their site Profile tab and personal email.

Nothing.

I may be throwing my dummy out of the pram too early, but its the lack of communication that worries me. Every other seller I have dealt with has been ace on the communication front.

I think I'm also worried because I spent a fair amount on money on the gear

Anyone have any experience of dealing with PayPal to get money back if the seller goes AWOL and the goods dont show?

That's not right...communication is key. I have experience with paypal, and I've been pleased to have gotten back my money on three different occasions. Basically if the seller is deliquent in responding to their meails and mine, in addition cannot supply proof of postage/tracking, then paypal will reimburse...or at least in my case. Each one took about 30 to 40 days to get my money back, so it's a process...I guess.

I won the claim with Paypal but because the seller didnt respond and has no money in their account I am £37 down.

Ho hum, live and learn
