What was the 1990 Saracen in yellow called?

Can somebody put me out of my misery?

BITD, a friend had the 1990 Saracen that came in bright sunshine yellow and then he sold it to another friend of mine. I remember this particular bike well because it had a "Mud Dawg" tyre on the back that made a lovely buzzing noise when you rode it on tarmac.

So I thought that for the summer, I might keep my eye open for one with a 19 inch frame to use as a road runabout. I've combed the RB forums and found photos of the Tufftrax in sky blue, the Conquest in black and the Trekker in lilac. But I can't find any pics of the yellow one that will remind me what it was called....

Please somebody help!!! ;)

I might have got my years mixed up here....

I've found a picture of a 1987(?) Tufftrax, and I think that this might be the bike I'm thinking of: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 45&start=9

I could do with looking at a 1987 or 1988 Saracen catalogue.

[Edit: Cheers Mr. Panda, we posted at the same time. Yep, it's starting to look like I'm thinking of an early Tufftrax...]

Yes, the 1991 Sahara was in yellow -- complete with that year's multi-colour swirly decals... :)

Okay, I know how to get to the bottom of this: e-mail the friend who originally owned the bike I'm thinking of and ask him if it was a 1987 Tufftrax...

Sorry to bother you, chaps! :)

I think I've found it!!! :)

This is the fourth picture down in Repack Rider's post, but he doesn't say which catalogue year the photo is taken from...

I'm sure that's the Saracen I remember, but the frame wasn't as big as the giant in the picture...

I had a yellow Tufftrax with chainstay u-brake, trying to remember if it was 87 or 88 I got it. Think it was 88, but don't remember the stem being yellow. 18 speed and bio-pace rings, front shifter not indexed?

Sniff, thats the fella. That was mine in the rail carriage, en route to the lakes. Stolen twice but only recovered once, I definitely bought mine in the summer of '88 when I had my first holiday job at Uni. I think it was around the £300 mark.
