Surely you ought to sell them to somebody who would appreciate them more. Seems a shame to change something extraordinary into something ordinary, well less extraordinary anyway.

Ok, so it looks like I need to keep the gold and do another build - I take it that green or Ti frames work best with gold?

My tuppence-worth. You don't like gold, so get rid, sell them or swap them for a colour you will use! Only strip them if they are in poor condition (as my Cooks were). Seems to be plenty interested, stop teasing them!
Hmmm, seems to be plenty of interest in these cranks but the purpose of the thread wasn't to gauge interest but just to think what I could do with them (plus I was a bit bored).
No plans to sell but if I do they will be in 'For Sale' with a photo, price etc. Rest assured that I have put down the caustic soda bottle and walked away - pity really as was looking forward to some Fight Club like scars (note: I do not at all recommend this but if you do put your hand in a too strong caustic soda solution it will first go like an old person's and feel eerily smooth and then your skin will start to come off).
They could certainly go on the Yo but will it be a bit much as there's already some red? Would certainly make it even more Christmassy. Now where can I get me some frankincense and myrrh?
