What single-speed ready frames are there?

My Dialledbikes Love/Hate single speed. Comes with a Phil Wood Eccentric BB. Frames are Reynolds 520. There is a new version in the pipeline with sliding drop outs, dont know if they are selling this model any cheaper to make room?

Trevor.

PS. The front cable has now been shortened and I am now running it with a 100mm Rockshox Reba Race, love it!

I went for a eccentric bb frame because for a single speed why run the risc of the wheel pulling across AND it looks so clean and un clutered.

Well there's some food for thought & some really nice bikes! :)

The eccentric BBs are a new one on me! Worth thinking about, but as I'm starting from scratch I'd quite like a frame that's designed for SS.
Kinda the same reason for not getting one of my current frames modified - I like them as they are, & I need another bike - honest! Would be good to know if there are any framebuilders near here though.

Silly question probably but why, on a disc-ready frame, did you decide to add canti mounts and use HS-33's and not use disc hubs and run discs :?: :?:

Yep a retro rider for sure my newest bike is a 97 clockwork ,as i had all the bits already and access to a frame shop i thought that a set of canti bosses would be usefull and the only disc brake ive owned was a prostop jobby with acutrax forks back in 91 :o

Good suggestions about using an older frame - if you have a tatty one you like then a framebuilder can fit some track ends and remove any unnecessary gear braze ons to leave it looking really clean for £30 to £40.

I've had an Inbred and a 1x1 and, despite myself, thought both were great riding bikes. If you go for either try to look for older ones which were rim brake only - my 1x1 had a canti stop so naturally that was my (non working) brake of choice. Minor rant mode, but one of my pet hates is frames that have canti bosses and disc mounts. This is not a criticism of either brake choice just seems that the company lacks the conviction to go one way or the other.

Oh, and if you can get a secondhand one, IF SS Deluxes are really, really good just far too pricey new.

i agree. trying to cater for too many different markets can spoil the end product.
