What Retrobike "feature" do you avoid when looking for bikes?

Avoid buying: bikes with bottom brackets that need a pin spanner to remove...

Remove and replace: cantilevers, 1990s' saddles, rapid fire shifters, thumb shifters, 130mm+ stems...

Enjoy: steel f&f, 3 x 8, and, of course, the icing on the cake ... Gripshift!

Booooo.

choose wisely young padwan for there is always the exception to the rule. I love my 2001 decathlon. Nice steel frame. Race geometry, did me proud for many a year till retiring and becoming a play thing.

It's exempt.

You didn't "look to collect" it though, you just found it in your possession when you awoke from the dream/nightmare of working life, and found yourself emotionally attached to it.
That's different.

Alas I did not hunt it out second hand, I purchased it from decathlon my self, so yes I fear it is exempt from this discussion. 🤣
