What on earth have I just bought?

Constant winter commuting has killed my commuter (and the one I borrowed from my girlfriend, oops  ), so I've been on the lookout for another cheap bike I can leave locked up at the station, not be too fussy about maintenance etc.

After a month or so's searching for a suitable bargain on Gumtree and eBay, I've just bought this. I'll go and collect it next weekend, but in the meantime - any ideas what it is?

I figure it must be halfway decent for someone to have gone to the trouble of doing that custom paintjob....

At first - I would have guessed a mid 90's Kona - but on closer inspection - agree it could be a Sunn. The seatstays look Sunn and the front mech cable routing. I've had a Kona but not a Sunn - so not 100% - whatever it is - it'll be a nice surprise when you get it!

Not kona either

the only distinctive thing to my eyes is the top tube/seat stay junction, you can see its joined in line with the top of the top tube, whereas, for example on a kona it would be inline with the centre.

what that might be is a small ballistic. they had a sloping top tube design similar to rocky mountains or overburys, but the smaller the frame the smaller the distance between the top tube and seat stay. although probably not, cos it doesnt look like a very small frame.

any marks on the bb shell?
