Interested to know? Never likely to win here but is it nostalgia, build correctness, rarity, originality or just ooooooh?

Discuss.

Don't ask me, my dbr go no votes when I entered it.

Seems that kleins, rare bikes or period correct win most of the time, along with impressive restorations.

One that isn't trying too hard, gets ridden as it's supposed to- not just looked at- and is different from the run of the mill.

Girlonbike's Fat will be a Great BOTM and probably BOTY too!

Great BOTMs are not necessarily dubbed 'winner' - if you simply counted all votes for all other bikes against the grand total for every 'winner' you'd see 'democracy' is a somewhat crude assessor.

So I need a different rare period correct well restored well photographed pristine Klein that's just been ridden?

This formula doesn't take into account rallying troops to vote (for you as well as/instead of the bike).

As mr k says in can turn into a popularity contest, where people vote for someone considered cool or from the "it " crowd

Looking back on the voting rare as hens teeth and mostly American, there have been a couple of 'Winners' this year that I have detested too.
