Retro Newbie
Hi

I'm new on this forum it would be nice to meet you here. I'm from Poland so first of all sorry for my English. I begin my adventure with old, vintage bicycles. I've just bought in Poland the bike which is shown in the pictures. I'm trying for  the past couple of days to found out what is the model or brand of this bike. I only guess it could be Rudge or Raleigh. On the bottom of the frame I found the number 333 and on the internal gear hub of Sturmey-archer is written a year 1965.

let me know if you need more photos :)

Have a nice day
Bartosz

Don't know what it is, but please check that the handlebar stem is not above it's minimum insertion mark as it looks awfully high.

Hello Bartosz

Not a Raleigh make, not even British. Some British components, the hub gear date seems too early. Is it possibly Dutch?

Re:

Hi, The Bristol was an English brand as in this head tube photo although there doesn`t seem to be much info about them online. It`s possible it may have been made by the Bristol Aeronautical and Automobile manufacturer as they had a reputation for excellence in Engineering, I may be way off with that but anyone any better ideas ?

This bike has no connection with the city of Bristol UK.
Sturmey Archer made 36 hole hubs in the 1960s, but also made them in Switzerland. British bikes for the home market were not made with friction dyno lighting, extra long handlebar stems, and fancy chain guards. But the chrome looks extremely good. And the gear trigger is another mystery.

Any makers name on the brakes or other parts?

Keith

Thank you guys for all your answers. It seems that this bike is quite a mystery :)
I found on the back lamp the nationality mark NL - Netherland
- the back brakes - Weinmann type 1020
- the front brakes - Weinmann type 890
- the bike lock - brand Mike
- look at this special mark which is stamped on the bicycle fork which looks like almost the same as on the "Bristol" head badge
