what is the difference between these 2 Marin frames...

Originally I purchased a 1992 Marin Eldridge Trail because I needed another set of wheels for my Kona. Eventually I thought it would be a cool project to rebuild it, but the frame was rusted through, so that made it a no go. Forks and stem are fine, and so is all the rest of the hardware.

I just saw a Marin Muir-woods on eBay, and am wondering on the differences between the frames on these bikes. Are the frames from a 1993 Eldridge trail and a Muir-woods from the same year similar, and just the components differ?

They are very different.
Eldridge: racier geometry, lower & longer. Thin butted tubing.
Muirwoods has some Hi Ten / non butted tubing in the mix IIRC, stable more upright geometry.

Agree with above. Some of the mid to high end Marin's shared frames but the Muirwoods was low down and not made from the same quality of steel.
