I tried running/jogging but it physically hurts - in both my knees, but shins, and my sides. The cycling won't be as effective, but I enjoy it a lot more and can do it without any pain. Lugging the LTS uphill to work every day should make it more of a workout anyway![]()
I'm 6', and 6 months ago hit 14 stone. Decided I'd had enough of putting weight on, so got my bike out of the garage and hit the trails. Built it up from 1 or 2 hours a week to now riding Monday, Wednesday and Friday for at least an hour each time, and also a couple of hours on either Saturday or Sunday.
I now weigh 13 stone

As for running, I cant run to save my life.....but cycling, I could do it all day with no problems. Cycling is PERFECT to lose weight, as within a couple of weeks of me starting riding again the weight was dropping off me. Ok, its not falling off now, because I think I've reached a point where its now turning to muscle.
Stick at cycling, its more fun than the torture that is running
