well folks, i have just won a road Raleigh Dyna Tech frameset 8)

However, do i build it up and use over winter(the main reason for the purchase!)

Or as it is NOS sell it on, unbuilt to a new much worthier owner who will give it much less abuse and less salty winter road use :?:

It is a very nice looking ride, and as the 2080 (753? tubes/equivalent of)

it is a dilemna please give me some advice

No use asking me, i'm namby pamby with all my bikes not wanting to get them wet or dirty :) , when i do get one dirty a full strip down and re-build usually follows

I'm in a dilema at the moment with my Sunn as that was bought to replace a too nice to commute on Clockwork, but the Sunn is just as mint and is turning out too nice to use over the winter :? .

Then again if you sell the Dyna-Tech frame the person you sell it to could do exactly as you are avoiding and just use the thing and you will have passed on a good frame.

Surelly running it over one winter shouldn't do a great deal of harm though as long as you keep it clean.

It's a tough one :?

I like that

build it and use it , simple as that :D
anymore issues

Cool response:wink:

Anybody else have any thoughts?

And yes this is probably what does happen with old stock frames. Passed from one owner to another till someone throws caution to the wind

Pretty serious about it, as long as it is not real museum material, just use it and enjoy it. Makes you a very worthy owner imho
I know how it feels/hurts when you have to be one that throws caution to the wind though, using my proper restored 1967 Merc as a daily driver and comute on my 1937 Simplex bike  ..... and that's even beside throwing my brand new Groovy in the dirt the first time...

but in the end, do what feels best to you :)
