What do bars cost to post?

Just to reiterate an earlier post; I sent a set of Azonics bars last Wednesday and it was indeed £12 ParcelForce 48.

And they did not arrive until Monday

Mr ParcelForce is currently looking into my claim.

Thanks for that but i think i'll be going with myhermes if there are any takers :(

I've just used MyHermes for the fiirst time. There's a franchise less than a mile away so it could make sense. I sent a pair of wheels for £6.40 !
They go on weight, not size, but with a max length+girth of 225cm, so large frames are a no-no, but smaller ones might just squeak it!

I believe Next day special insured, in a tube would be now ironically cheaper, as long as it fits in a tube. They gave little warning and caught a lot of Ebay sellers and mail order companies out big style.

Been using myhermes for a couple of years now. I will be using even more since the RM price hike. Couple of tips using myhermes - you can get away with declaring any item to be <1kg - I don't think they ever weigh your item - I've been doing this successfully for over a year now and had no problems. Also, size-wise pretty much anything you can fit on the back seat of an average size car they will take. The couriers use their own vehicles and this is the only limitation on size. So you can bend the size guidelines to some extent if you follow this principle. Only other thing I would say is ensure your stuff is heavily packaged as some of their drivers aren't the most delicate when it comes to handling  I have had one incident where I sold a golf club on eBay and the buyer caught the guy trying to shove it through the letter box (it was a driver   ) and the item was damaged as a result - put a claim in, used my ebay listing as proof of value etc - refund processed within a couple of weeks - much easier than doing the same through Royal Mail.

So you've been sending heavy stuff for £3?! Bargain.

I suppose if you had to make a claim and had declared a blatantly low weight they might not pay up.

Went to my local Post Office last night which is in my local One-Stop. The PO bit has been recently refurbed but now limited as to what services they offer as it's smaller and at the front of the shop rather than a more traditional set up at the back.

Anyway, early riser bars, few layers of bubble wrap, nice and light, over 61cm in length. Under new PO sizing that is now a LARGE parcel, they don't accept large parcels! Ridiculous, proir to the refurb and latest changes I was posting frames in bike boxes, pairs of wheels, some abroad, now I can't even send a handle bar! If it fell into the medium size parcel it would of of been £5.60 and they would of taken it. Two weeks ago it would of been £2.20.

So basically now to send it I will have to drive to a main PO, possibly have to pay for parking, and I guess it will be about £7/8 maybe more to post, that's that spoiled then, with the PO anyway. Funny thing, the woman serving me told me all about Hermes!, great business move that PO!

i posted some risers last week for £3 at my local PO, wrapped up tight in a custom box (a shoe box  )

sounds like some po s are being awkward...
