Great, great time guys. Thank you. Brilliant job Chris and a fantastic course which got nice and narly after some later rain.
This will be fantastic venue for a future RB event as discussed. Mid Summer RB Show and Tell.
I'll post photos later.

Some iffy weather, but a good day out on an old school cross-country course through the woods and old quarries of N.Lincs.

Thanks for teaming up, Gerard...I don't think I could have done the full 6 hours.
I was quite liking our mark of 10/10 until I realised that is was our finishing position. :D

Huge kudos to Pete for coming in just under the wire at 5:59:35 after 11 laps solo with a dodgy knee.

Big thanks to Chris, the guys at KORC, Vuelta Sport and Sherwood Pines CC foot organising.

All the best,

huge thankyou to you all for making the effort to come, race, bring bikes and drink ale

ill post some pics later when ive eaten and found them haha

heres some pics, theres some on facebook etc ill find and paster here as and when

Well, they were a bit racey up the front of the field - not taking the Beer Line...

Really enjoyed doing a ride with a number on the front of my bike, it would unfair to say I raced compared to those who actually got on and did more than six laps.

Thank you to all involved in organising, especially the marshals who stood out in the at times less than desirable weather conditions and whoever made the banana loaf...

As with the best Retrobike events [*], plenty of good beer, good banter make for a splendid time.

Roll on Ride-O-Classic.

[*] - technically not a Retrobike event per-se, but with the bikes on display we had more bikes than the rest. :D

A few of my faded 'phone pics:

All the best,

Re:

So the weather was touch and go, Chris had a big Friday night, Claire and I turned up at (am is to one gazebo and not much sign of Retrobike.
Sign-in would be later....but have a cup of tea and just camp where ever you like.

Chris soon arrived and the set up begin.

When the sun came out it was warm and things looked on the up as the ground begain to dry a little.

Racers briefing with thanks to Chris for all his hard work, explanation of the "beer lane"...yes there was one.

Start and they're off! Chris in 4th.

Steve Day Single Speed WC with Chris right behind him (until Steve spilled and Chris gave up his place to check he was okay).

Dan-the man, and team mate (many thanks Dan, an absolute pleasure (no way I could do 6 hours solo either)!

Ted on the move.

Me.

The collection grew...some rare machines.

Emergency pit stop (not for beer) but nipple tape

About 2/3rds into the race the heavens opened. The result a track which was drying out nicely and becoming faster suddenly became very slippy, particularly on the off camber grass. I took a nose dive as did a few others judging by the state of their kit.

Pete (elPedro666) makes it across the line with 5 seconds to spare....and hasn't been on a bike for a while -well done!

Aidan, Gary's 15 year son gets a special mention and price...if he hadn't taken his dad vintage Canondale out he would have come 5th overall  ....brilliant job!

Let the beer and ogling begin.

Great day and many thanks to all.
