Heading to Wales for some riding this weekend with the GF, we're heading to LLantrwyd Wells as we've done some riding there before and we really liked it.

We would like to find somewhere new trails to ride on the first day, any recommendations?

Any where in Powis preferably?

Elan Valley.

It's about 20-25 miles from Llanwrtyd, and it's absolutely stunning. Literally miles and miles and miles of unspoilt, completely natural trails with some of the best views you're ever likely to see.

Just head for Rhayader, pop into Elan Cyclery, and ask Neil for a few route suggestions. It used to be my LBS, and is still owned by the legend that is Clive Powell.

Try to include a trip down Rhayader Golf Links while you're there ;)

Try Coed Trallwm while you're in Llanwrtyd too ;)

Oh, and allow at least an extra hour on any rides you do around the valley, as you'll be stopping A LOT to take in all the views... ;)

You cant go terribly wrong anywhere around there top be honest!

I know for certain that the Beacons national park is huge and ace havinf spent many years there and done pen y fan umpteen times (storey arm's up and over to the neuadd down the steps)
