Wanted Wanted: 1.45"/1 7/16in/Chater-Lea bottom bracket

Dirt Disciple
Collecting the bits and pieces to put an old carlton frame back on the road, the main outstanding challenge is to find a bottom bracket. It's the obsolete Chater-Lea size, so english threaded but 1.45 inch thread diameter. I'll be keeping an eye out for one online and am emailing some of the vintage parts suppliers to see if one turns up, but to increase my chances am asking here also. Budget is anything below what it would cost to go down phil woods route as a backup.

How do you distinguish between oversized and 'regular' Chater Lea bottom bracket?

I think it's just an occam's razor situation where they're so rare that anyone selling one will probably know exactly what it is and advertise it accordingly. They do turn up though.

I don't think so - saw that on ebay but it's advertised as 1.37 inch. I cant find a period catalogue to check the part numbers, but another one sold in August also advertised as 1.37 inch and with the same 616/617 numbers
