I can only offer my commiserations. My parents had the M25 built 1 mile from their house, it has completely transformed the environment with constant noise and terrible pollution.

It's such a shame we can't think of other ways of going about things.

Arguably overall local noise and pollution will drop because the traffic is already there, but it won't be sat in big long queues at Brampton Hut and Spittals traffic lights.
It's a shame you get more traffic 500m closer to home, but really what's the alternative?

Studies have shown road 'improvements' often do nothing to alleviate congestion, as more people are encouraged to drive where journeys are made easier for driving.

Got to say I am disgusted by the number of HGVs grinding up the A9 near us, most of the goods could easily be taken by train, or sea.
