dammit! Even my lego could do a better job than this... :roll:


The impeller on my water pump, if it was splined, it would be fine. A part with plenty of life left made useless. New pump fitted for it to go wrong again another time perhaps.

they've achieved what they wanted though - you bought another bigger part from them than would otherwise have been the case

The impeller is (as you know) moulded onto the shaft with the knurling to provide enough "key" - wasn't it possible to replace just the impeller/shaft and seal without having to replace the complete pump unit ?

Just curious really....

would probably take longer than the removal of the front bumper, radiator, timing chain cover to replace the actual pump.
