Retro bikes we've spotted

Bit of a jumble of parts, 8 speed XT rear mech the only nice one imo. It was remarked upon why am I taking photos of an old bike when there’s a stunning view of the lake behind it I managed not to capture.

I stopped myself a few weeks ago in France from taking a photo of some crusty tan wall Wolber tyres on the wheels of a portable market stall.

The burgundy Centurion in KayOs's pic looks lovely! Not a brand I know anything about. Rabbithole incoming!
It's a german brand that is located near Stuttgart. They did a tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu on their MTBs in the late 80's that caught some attention. That's where the burgundy one got it's name from. They are not the lightest bikes but very well made and usually completely Suntour equipped. They also had a very nice powdercoating with multiple layers, pretty good corrosion protection and a 20-year guarantee against rusting through.

This one is standing there for at least 8 years now and still looks pretty nice. IMG_20250822_093628.webp

My 'burner' Nokia doesn't do photos - let's do a spot of imagining! Cambridge, UK, this afternoon, a cool 18" I suppose mid-blue MTB with chainstay U-brake. Ibis. Really?! 'Avion' it said on the top tube. A mixture of XT and 6-speed shifters. Rusty chain. Tange pink label. A student runaround bike.
Pretty cool, no pictures, good night.
