Hi, can you please help. I bought a Vitus 992 with a Edco competition bb (Square Taper ISO) which I would like to change. I was planning to fit a Campagnolo Centaur crankset (similar to your Athena) with a Campagnolo power torque cup set but the guy from the bike shop is telling me they do not have the proper bb. Can you help me with the details of you build - which bb have you used? Thanks a lot!
:? Time for a new shop? The 992 is almost certainly BSA or IT threaded (most likely BSA). Power torque comes in both flavours anyway.

Is the threading/bottom bracket type marked on the end cups?
I was pretty sure the 787 was the last that had french threading available. I may be wrong.......

And the EDCO competition appears to come in all three threadings as well. I can find reference to French, ITA and BSA versions. So unless it's marked, you'll have to pop it out to check!

I will check out the cups. Informations from FINNEY1973 about his build would be helpfull because I was planinng something similar...

1.370 x 24 - standard outboard cup set-up.
There's a letter B on the BB shell behind the the cable guide - may be wrong but I assumed this identified the BB thread pattern? British in the case of my frame.

FINNEY1973, thank you. So you fitted something like this:

I guess my frame has a french thread or the guy at the bike shop is not very experienced.

Those are the very cups that I fitted (could be wrong but these are the only option with Powertorque cranks?).

I find it a bit odd that frames from the 90's where still being made with French threads? Have you checked the threads on your headset? This could give you a clue as to the threading used on the BB shell?
