Vitus 979

Retro Newbie
Thinking of selling my As New Vitus 979, Full Dura ace 7400. Been in storage for the past 30 years. Never ridden more than a 100 miles from new. Opinions please? It's mint! Not bad for 34 years old eh! The pictures really don't do it justice.

Thank you. It is indeed a Wow bike. The pictures really don't do it any justice. All Iv'e done is give it a clean, replace the tyres and tubes with NOS Michelin service course, changed the cables and NOS lever hoods. New bar tape and that's it. It's rare to find one in such As new condition these days.

Truly stunning bike but I am curious as Peugeot didnt offer the 979 in that colour and the decals are repro ( the chequer should start from fade to solid ) so at some time I reckon it has been badged up as a Peugeot. Was it like that when you got it ?

You are correct. It was originally a Cilo. But the decals did nothing for the bike really. Only recently put the decals on to brighten it up.
