I bought a very tatty little IF 853 deluxe from Colin (bhill22 of this parish) about 3 years ago.
I rode it for a bit as was. I liked it, so i asked Jon at chickens frame emporium to add a disc tab and hose guides and powder it for me. It's gold because i told Jon to use whichever powder he had most of and wanted to use up. He did a super job.
I've built the frame into a variety of bikes, but this is the one i find most fun. It takes a 400mm axle-crown fork really well. Oddly, in fact, anything longer feels too long.

Looks ace! Front (drops especially) looks pretty low but kudos if that works for you (my back says "no!")👍

Lovely stuff. Looks like a mile muncher. I too would need higher bars!

Thank you, it's a great one for ripping round the downs. With all the flints round here i sonetimes want more than a skinny cx tyre.

I find a big drop really suits me. In fact, i struggle to get my bars low enough with a lot of modern bikes. I think my arms must be extra long for my relatively low height.

Thank you. I'm a big rim brake fan, but the wheels wouldn't turn for 4 months of the year round here in the clay. This is my favourite bike ever, but i can't ride it in the winter.
