Hi all my v brakes are making a squweeeeeeeling noise i have tryed to fix it but it won't go away. Tryed the toe in and out setting on the pads with no joy.
My setup is M600 V's with exporer pads (see pic) and mavic D521 alloy wheels.
Any help will be most welcome.

Your pads are similar to those on my Avid Arch Rivals, and mine squeal like a stuck pig!

I think it's just the pad material, I certainly can't get mine to stop no matter what - I've just got used to it.

Certainly gets errant ped's attention as they jaywalk in front of me!

When I worked in my LBS, we found that using disc brake cleaner on the rims would result in them squealing like a banshee.
It was as if the rime was 'too clean' - like a pair of trainers on a clean floor.

Sometimes I found that running a file along the length of the pads (better to remove the pad and run it along the file) would work. Just enough to see some slight grooves.

I've still have the M.B. U.K. sticker that reads, "Ramblers...Satan's Children"
