Using cycling routes on SmartPhones

this

download gpx file
open gpx with google earth or one of suggested converters
convert to kml/kmx
save to desktop
then transfer to phone (most likely memory card)
then use import function on google maps (on your phone)
then open said kml file

My Maps > create a Map > Import

Can't find the folder to stash the KML file so that 'my maps' will find it. . . googling....

Ok.. Google Maps now supports GPX so you just need to import the file (using your pc) and then it's there on the phone too...

Now all I need to know is how to use it as a route and not just a series of points on a map

Done the conversion to a kml file and now I have a route rather than a series of points.. Little steps

I did follow it ya nugget.. But then found out that gpx is supported.
And also found out that the kml file doesnt need to be copied to the phone.... Just imported to maps on the pc....
