Using cycling routes on SmartPhones

Been doing a little googling for local cycle routes this morning and the ones I've found have a file to download for satnav application..

I'm using an SE X10 with google maps/navigation but don't know what type of file it uses, where to save it or how to open it once it's saved. . .

Anyone help?

errr quick search - is it KML format?

if so, i expect it would be a case of saving them into the root folder of google maps, so it should load them automatically

Looked for info on getting routes into bikehub too.. p'raps I'm just blind today..

is it a specific app? on android i presume? or just google maps mobile?

Don't really know.. I suspect it's the android specific version of mobile google maps.

ok by the looks of it you have to load the gpx files into google earth then save it as kml/kmx then import it into your phone? (i guess your map app would have a map search function?)
