it is safe to use an ultra light inner tube that is quoted as fitting tyres from 2.00 to 2.5 in a 3.00 wide tyre?

i have 3.00 specfic tubes already an they are extremely heavy

no problems what so ever the only downer bit is as they strech to fit they are not as thick so have a slightly higher chance of punchering but if a thorn is gonna go though then it is going though regardless

want to go lighter ?

try a 20" tube in a 26"
works fine but a bit of a gitter to fit

Real pain I've had when using "undersize" tubes is once they need patching. When new as mentioned above, they just expand and stretch to fit. Once patched, I had problems with patches staying put - no matter how long you left them to "dry". Patches don't want to stretch the same as the tube...pump pump...bang pfffft noise. :-(
