Evening All,

Which way round does the post go in the frame?

The two holes at the top of the post (under the cradle) are at different heights - does the higher of the two face forward or back?

Pics would really help :-)

Many thanks in advance,

Mark

I got mine so the higher portion is facing forward the result of which is when the post is in the seat tube the whole bar thingy that the screws go through is roughly parallel with the seat tube. It has been that way for a couple of years and no problems so far, I have roughly the same range of movement on either side, not that I need the extremes of that range of movement, but ot works and works well.

I did think to indicate by posting a pic of my bike, but it seems I have not uploaded one, something to rectify I think.

does this help at all.. ?

Ok, a way to ascertain for yourself, hold the post upright and see the stud things appear to look like one is higher than the other, perhaps draw an imaginary line through the centre of the studs so it crosses an imaginary line running the length of the seat pin.

Now tilt the post and see at what angle the stud centre line appears to be parallel to the ground as at this point the range of movement is equal on both sides with respect to the horizon. The direction in which you had to tilt the post now indicates which is front facing and which is rear facing by the angle the seat pin is at, thus possibly mirroring the rake of your seat tube, just pop it in there and see how it goes.

Just looked at mine, and the higher stud is facing to the rear, which kind of makes my first reply kind of wrong, my apologies.

But if you can understand my explanation and try what I said, I think you will get the correct orientation
