The Frame i just bought off Chris Has a headtube of 115mm, the Ti Torus with the 'dodgy' bb shell[ ]
my superduper just rebuilt Amp F4 BLT that im soo chuffed with finishing,
has a steerer of 200mm ,which is now too long by [although theres no h/s yet]about 40-50mm,even with spacers its looking too long
:cry: I may have to.........God this is hard, i've got a lump in my throat
Cut the steerer :shock:

im looking at all options

I'd suggest hunting for a short steerer and change it. Keep the long one for future use.

i've often thought some kind of steerer exchange on here would make sense. the net trend for steerers will always be for them to get shorter, and we should fight that hard..

Finding 1 could take months ,with no guarantees
unfortunately its a press fit ,replacements are available 260mm long from the States only, so i'd have to cut something ,i'll see when the h/s is fitted,it may only need to cut a little bit ,but i'll know by sunday

Hi Andy, if i remember correctly i have just sold a set of pace forks with a 180mm steerer and this was a little to short for the torus ( king headset, pace rc 45 stem and no spacers) so 200mm should be just fine i think,

If you contact Dr S quick enough he is swapping out my old 160 mm steerer for a new 260mm one this week (hopefully ) on my F3's - it'll be surplus to requirements I would have thought.

thanks for that,im picking up the frame tomorrow ,after getting the h/tube faced for the new h/set
with a syncros stem that has a height of 50mm ,i thought a couple of spacers under and 1 on top might fill it out
