** UNIDENTIFIED TI FRAME**

Can anyone help, my frame has developed a crack in the bottom tube and would like to get it fixed. Need to find out who made it and have been told that it is a Fuji circa 1990's.

Any ideas?

That is screaming Parkpre steel frame at me. Could be a Team 925 or Pro 825, most likely a Team 925 if it is early 90's.
Take a look at the Team 925 linked in my signature, this is a later Tange tubed model but the same frame design.

That's a good call me thinks. Seeing as you have restored one already do you reckon that it is worth getting it either welded or the bottom tube replaced. the crack developed from the alan key hole for the water bottle and has spiralled up towards the head tube.
And mine is really quick too.

that looks like a long serious crack.
Everything is fixable but these looks like you need to replace the complete tube.
i am no expert in the value of the Park Pre frames but i think repairing this would get close to the value of the frame.
Do you have any sentimental value with this frame?

Had the frame well over ten years and it's been a good one, so a little sentimental value, saying that I just bought a P7 as a replacement until I get this one fixed.

Yup:
-The good bad news is it looks like steel from the welds....
-The bad news is, what you thought was a ti frame probably isnt...
-The good news is steel is easier to get repaired....
-The bad news is the size, type and location of that crack means the repair will either be very drastic (new tube), very ugly (sleeved) or just very uneconomical for the value of the frame.

Thankyou for all your help, I didn't think it was a Ti frame but a metal workshop informed me (wrongly) that it was.
