Under 25's to lose housing benefit ?

You are right. Where there is a will there is a way.

Youd like to think theyre looking at the long term rather than short term and hope that they are right when hindsight comes into play.

If you are entitled to benefit, and a certain amount is assessed as what you need to live, none of it should be re-appropriated to pay any excess to housing costs.

That is a disgusting aspect to all this, as many will pay the extra to stay withing these limits and leave themselves living hand to mouth.

The landlords will stand over their tenants as always, there for that penny more and abusing their position.

It is sick.

I think this is the crux of most arguments in favour of the governments various cuts over the last few years. Well I hope so anyway! Nothing will get fixed overnight and there will be a lot of people that will be very unhappy, with fair reason or not. The problem is this country has been sliding towards laziness for a while now. To parrot the old lines out, 'we have generations of families who have never worked' etc... It seems like Mr. Cameron is pulling the trigger on it all. Let's hope it's for the best.

But those generations did not cause the global economic crisis, nor are they to blame for the current crisis.

It is a magician's trick being played on all.

But they're still sucking the life and soul out of this country.

So the global economic crisis is why lots of nobheads don't work out of choice rather than circumstance?

Really?

Blimey.

The professionally unemployed were around through the good times, and are not going to disappear in the bad times.

The problem runs much deeper.

I guess we can't change human nature at the end of the day, people ( tenants and landlords) will always lie or cheat and con each other, be greedy and the honest folk will just have to deal with it.

Bitter eh, why should someone else take on the risk of a house to rent to you and then not make any money? Don't like it then buy your own.
A 250k mortgage ain't peanuts.
