Under 25's to lose housing benefit ?

As not all under 25's are in the same circumstances I don't think putting an age cap on this benefit is a good idea.

Mr.Camoron seems to think that all under 25's can stay at home till they are older, in a loving home environment. Get real or get out !

If rents weren't behond our pay there would be less of an issue as working under 25's wouldn't need a top up from housing benefit.

So fairer rents matched to current wages would save a huge amount instead of saying, if he is saying, working ? and non working under 25's will not get housing benefit ?

So will working under 25's get help with their rent if their wages are not enough, that's my 1st worry.

My 2nd worry is if your in a violent or abusive family but not enough for social services to be involved are you expected to stay there ?

Fancy and wastful opening cerimonies ie olympic games waste huge amount of tax payers money in just one day........edit just part of that one day. Cup of tea and a slice of cake and welcome to the UK is more than enough

I think there's a lot of stereotypes, and a lot of abuse of the system.

In every instance I've seen of them attempting to tackle the abuse, though, they seem to do so in a feckless, or unthinking way. Whether that's by design, or otherwise, but nothing could persuade me more that "We're all in this together..." was the biggest load of guff spouted by a politician in a profession known for spouting a load of guff.

I just hope there is a bit of common sense built into it, I knew people who at 16 would go on the housing list just because they could...they had perfectly good home lifes with their parents but just thought they could screw a bit more out of the system.

Don't get me wrong I know there are situations where people need to get out, because its not a good environment or its just a space issue. A 3 bedroom house is fine, but usually one of the rooms is little more than a box room which is fine for a child upto about 13 but for a young adult it's not ideal.

We need a large dose of decision making from the local councils surely...and i hope it's going to be the case if they do follow through with this.

As young people will still get kicked out or feel they need to leave this is just going to impact on homless charities which are already very stretched.

Then this has a knock on effect with people taking drugs to escape and mental health as well..........yup save a penny and create an even bigger bill for the chariites to pick up, that's reasponsible government.

And if these charities said no we're not going to help anymore or that's it, no more capacity......then the sh*t would really hit the fan.....extra crime etc etc.

Care in the community (that's a joke), run your own library etc etc ..............why do we pay income tax and VAT and council tax again ?

London stop wasting the rest of the countries money and do your job properly, it's what WE pay you for.

I live in a small community that has 42 homes of which 12 are holiday houses.

Tax these people heavily and spend the money on building houses and better lives for the less fortunate in 'our' society.

Some strong feelings there. Although there is never a magic wand I do think that Mr camoron asshould be one of the most informed people about the problems all people have with housing, after all he is the head of the country and should have all the latest facts and figues on housing issues.
