You'll need to put Andy Powell on the list then...

+1 for Geoff Apps...he's got the closest to getting into the US Hof, thanks to Graham's efforts to get him shortlisted every year. Anyone else UK made it?

All the best,

Tim Gould is in there, and has been for some time.

Great idea Kaiser!

I have nothing to add to the list of luminaries but of course Mr Apps must be an inductee!

Brant?! What?!?!

Thought someone might bite.

He's been rather more involved in the UK scene than many people give him credit for or are aware of. Certainly more so than some of the other Journo's or Snappers that some people have cited here as worthy of inclusion.

Am I wrong in thinking that the chosen selection would then go up for Nomination......and then a yearly winner Voted for......?

This is not my idea BTW!! There is someone setting this up as we speak. Juts the messenger. All I can say is check back to the sire I posted in the OP.

Yates and Roberts....

nice frames, but hardly pushing back the boundaries.

Just sayin...

I cant think of another Complete steel bike that was useable and sub 20lbs at the time/shortly after the Roberts D.O.G.S B.O.L.O.X was launched, or another English frame builder that that took the advantages of steel to the weights he did, at the time. Imho leading the others to follow suit.

Not forgetting being The Builder being Responsible for more championship winning race frames than any other Uk Frame Builder, (imho)

In the terms of Us discussing The UK hall of fame, I can think of No Other English Steel Fabricators that deserve it More.

And to be fair, i have often personnally thought, given what Roberts Did acheive here at the time, he deserves consideration for the US hall of fame.

I gotta disagree with you on this im afraid.

Dunno.

How does the US one work? A few people get inducted each year?

I think initially there were ten, then a few each year. I guess it would be good if folks gave a bit of a reason as to why they think someone is eligible.

Ok, my interpretation of the original O.P was to merely put forward a list for Nominations, so members could Vote from an ultimate selection...and a winner or winners are picked.

I obviously have reasons for all of the above names in my list, however thin the reasons may seem to others.

The Uk, is not a massive place, and i do feel there are a lot of Unsung Heros, that do deserve a level of grattiude, and thanks.

Call the view romance and rose tinted glasses if you wish, but for example....

Every Mountain bike racer on the list above at one time or another won a race/s on a Professional level, some went to the worlds and represented our country some had less funding and championed the Nationals, Some maybe more than some gave feedback to the framebuilders/manufacturers, (cause and effect).....making big and small changes to the development of the bikes we were able to buy on the highstreet, all thanks to much needed feedback provided by the racers, and there teams.

One thing they did all do, is work hard, the entertained us, they gave us competion at the highest levels, they gave us glory, we saw there pictures, we read there reviews, we stood there and watched them bleed for that slim chance of Victory.

They made me Proud to be English Again.

But as i say, this is just my view...., i wont go down the list, it will only bore you.
