U Brakes

U Brakes... mmmm ... for the another project.. I remember having one on the rear of one of my specialized bikes BITD, I have had a look on the bay and there seems to be a few around, but dont know which ones are any good, what levers would I need too.. would like a set of XTs but its finding them.. anyone got any info .. links etc..

Anyone know if there are any decent ones around on the bay ? as I say there is a few on there Dia compe etc but want a pair that works... ? ?

U-brakes

Apparantly Si, MCMAHON/MRC power link brakes were supposed to be the bolox back in the day

But cant personally say they are any good..

They retrofit any u-brake bosses and usually have a nice built in booster

Scant may have had some experience of them, he knows his gear

Its just geting hold of the damm stuff though fella, I dont want to spend a fortune either on this one, as its going to be a run-around, but the brakes n stuff need to work... I have been spoilt over the years with good stuff, and its hard to go back to stuff that does not work.. so need something as we all do :roll: thats good but 'cheapish'

try to get some decent suntour rollercam brakes. those work really well if properly set up. that is if you're not bound to take a ubrake by frame construction or so.
