My Dad gave me his Trimble X Frame right before he passed away in 97. My shed where I was storing it burned down a month ago and I have been trying to figure out a price to give the insurance company. Also is it possible to restore it for sentimental purposes, it was the last gift my Dad ever gave me. @tintin40 I've noticed you comment on a few Trimble posts, I would love your feedback.
Thanks in advance for any help

Heart broken about the bike but really glad everyone is safe, even at a cursory glance I can see at least a couple of nice parts that are salvageable, Forks and Chainset.

If it was mine then I'd strip it down to a naked frame. Then if not expensive perhaps contact an expert in fibreglass/Kevlar and see what they say. Hard to say with out full strip down and clean. The rear hub looks good. An early frame 129. depends how much you can spend on it to get it riding or display only. The bar/stem is also very rare.

Oh I forgot about the insurance company quote I'd ask for a £1000 at most. They are rare but but my opinion not worth great sums of money like Yeti, Merlin or Kleins.

That can be saved. Interesting cranks are on it…

Strip it, and see the damage. The plastic bits like the gripshift are badly damaged so those need to go. The actual frame doesn’t look too bad but once stripped you can see any real damage. The parts themselves look pretty good. It would be a shame for such a nice bike to be a wall hanger.

Would be interested in any updates on the endeavour.
