Who knows a good way to ship a frame from Ebay shops who don't ship international?
I contacted two compagnies who send packages from USA to the Netherlands for some fee.
One charges 250,- dollar, another even 450,- dollar for just a frame
This seems way to much for me.
Does anyone have experience with a cheaper way to do this?

Cheers Jeroen

You can use USPS.com to get shipping estimates. The size of the package is the big limiting factor -- length plus girth need to be no greater than 108" or you can't ship it via USPS. I recently helped out a fellow RB'er and shipped a set of wheels to him in the UK. The box just made it under the size requirement. The weight was 14lbs and it cost $64 with tracking. Hope that helps.

I recently shipped a Steel Serotta frame from the US to the UK. Shipping via USPS was $60 insured. Import duty was 12% of sale price plus shipping value. Then you pay VAT on top of the whole lot (Sale value + Shipping + import duty). Worked out about £170 to get a frame into the country. Took 4-6 days to make the flight over the Atlantic and then another 4 weeks in customs. Well worth it though ;)

Thanks all, the maesurment limits seems to be just enough to pack the frame, then the price is around 60,-.
So I hope the seller will pack the frame right.
And I don't have to pay VAT, because it is a used frame.

You will have to pay VAT if customs get hold of it. Even if it used VAT has never been applied to it so is still chargable. Yes, this sucks.

Here in the netherlands you only have to pay 13 euro for the handling
and if the value on the package is high then the charge you but if you get the shipper to state on the package that is a used frame with a value of lets say 50USD then they do not charge you at all
