Trial - Gold Trader status

I am generally in favour of the gold standard, however can see the situation where a newbie to the site decides not to purchase from one person in favour of purchasing from a gold trader.
Which in its self is not the end of the world, but if every newbie were to do it, there would be a very slow increase in people becoming "gold standard".

It isnt a problem if the newbie checks out the feedback thread and makes an informed personal opinion.

I understand your point. However people will buy off those with no/low feedback and without gold trader status. I buy from new members on here and places like ebay, will just be more cautious which is the whole idea.

John and co, your efforts are as always appreciated, just administrating a forum is like herding cats.

Quite.

Indeed. Your efforts are highly appreciated.
On balance, having an additional way of reassuring traders is a good, and the feedback forum is also great, assuming everyone uses it.

Nice one John. 8)

Just wish more people would of left feedback previously. I have had my thread linked to my profile for ages but its easy to forget to leave feedback in the excitement of opening packages of new toys (I know as I too am guilty of it)

No Idea how many trades I have made on here but im pretty sure it is more than the number reported on my feedback...probably just within the last 12 months.

All in all though, I am in favour of it and I am sure my slight concerns will not be played out.

I've also sold quite a bit and given away lots but rarely get feedback (thanks to those who have).

frankly, if I wouldn't have seen the thread nailed to the home page, I'd never realized there's a feedback function up here, not to speak about the status thing.
Am a pretty senior member to this forum, joined back in summer 2005, there have been som 30-40 folks up here. Though I do not discuss a lot up here, I have bought heaps of stuff (2-3 bikes/frames and tons of stuff) and also sold probably as much as I have bought. I pay asap, as people know.
And, since I am a "titanium guy", one can imagine I am not into minor transactions. In addition, I am pretty often giving good karma away.

Never did anyone ask me for feedback, nor did I get any. As well, I never found myself on the bad traders list.
Am sure there is quite some people up here in a similar situation - flawless transactions, but no feedback.

What about that? Imho these cases are simply slipping through the system and are been almost neglected.

But its been in the classified guidelines for ages to use the feedback forum. That's how i found it. Do you have a record of what you have bought from whom- get some retrospective feedback. Since this has come to light i have been going throug my pm's and checking i've left people feedback. If i've missed anyone, let me know.

can I make a suggestion? If creating a feedback thread for someone its better for searching if the person name is plain as in no *'s* or *s* at the end.
