Nice bike - as good as it got for a steel trek I think, a mate had a 970 bitd and that was a good bike.

Like the trek forks too - there used to be double page spread adverts for these bikes with a third fold out page - from memory(!)

I'd have it if I hadn't bought too much recently!

Nice - these higher end steel Treks are really underrated in my opinion and yes, the 990 was top end for the Trek steel frames - this is a '91 or '92 model

The fork was made by Showa (of motorcycle fame) if I remember right, they aren't great but I don't think they were badly rated in the day, certainly no better or worse than similar offerings..
