Here is my reconstruction of a TREK Singletrack 990 18 " 1992 ( built 2017 ).
It is not a correct retro-compatible construction but a fusion of the 990 frame and newer attachments.
I drove exactly such a frame in the 90s and that's why I really wanted to get a 990 into my house again, in a changed guise.
The new construction drives better than the one with the Manitou Sport elastomre fork at that time, although the steering head geometry has become approx. 1 degree higher. Nevertheless, the bike is still very lively.
