Trade 9spd for some 10spd. Help!

Got a bit if a dilema..being that I have 9spd stuff, and need 10spd.

The cassette I purchased will not fit on the 10spd freehub..doh ! ( should have checked ) therefore the rear mech(s), shifter and chain are US to me as well.

Anyone fancy a swap.

I need 10spd Cassette,chain,rear mech and rear shifter....anything will do..decent condition though please.

I have

Sram 950 cassette ( new )
Sram 991 chain
X-9 mech or
m760 mech

All new or in VGC.

I do have a small amount of funds to spend/add if necessary.
Please help.

Not as simple as that Keith.

Road mechs use the old cable ratio. New 10 spd MTB mechs use the same as SRAM.

Which shifters do you have?

This is turning into a real PITA.... :?

I have a Alex rim with a 10spd freehub...it was set up as a SS, but I wanted to make it a 9spd as I have the necessary parts.

According to my LBS, the fitment of the hub does not allow for replacing it with a 9spd free hub.

So, I have bought a 2nd hand 10spd Sram Cassette and KMC chain from Si, a new XT 10spd shifter from CRC and was hoping to use a short cage 10spd mech.

I have a m760 9spd mech, but its a long cage.

If you can make sense of all this, I shall put you on my Christmas card list...

are the shimano 10 speed mtb shifters the same ratio as sram then? if so keith you can use your x 9 rear mech

OK - I suggest you sell the 10 speed shifter on. Someone is bound to want it for a 1X10 setup.
With the proceeds, buy a 10 speed ROAD trigger (these are sold out but to get the idea)

Your XT shifter will only work with a Shimano 10-speed MTB rear mech - unless someone has already tried it successfully with SRAM mechs. (?)
These will work fine with any Shimano road rear mechs and MTB rear mechs for 9-speed or less.

Nope. No such thing. Unless you mean medium cage, which is still as long as long cage mech USED to be.
