BBC News - Bike thefts

In an ideal world and all that the Police would be on it but we all know they are streched and rightly or wrongly they have more urgent priorities. At the larger stations they could levy a charge and provide security, £2 a day would be enough.

This is definitely the way things are going.

I’ve been wondering if this 2hr rule is because they are trying to cut down on resource time scrolling through hours of CCTV?

But I’m fairly sure there is way to cut this scroll time massively by looking at different segments and narrowing the theft moment down (not in section a; not in section z; not in b, etc - need a maths person to confirm).

& If there is an opportunity for AI to shine, it’s gotta be in this area? Or even let bike owners do the scrolling.

Imagine the same for burglary?
Break in you say? When?
Last week while we were on holiday….
Oh. Left the old castle unattended did we? Tsk tsk…
