https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/what-have-i-created.431846/Following on from my original E commuter tracker road bike framed bike? I have started to convert it to a more suitable frame, fatter tyres, slacker head angle, perfect for a fast electrically assisted commute?
Here's a couple of pics.
It started life as a late 80's I think? Townsend 15 speed, no other name, poor thing. Probably high tensile steel, can you get decals for that?
Paint stripped and build started.

Well I got it to a point that I could fire it up and take it for a blast around the block.
It's so much nicer to ride than with the racer frame, the tyres have some give and the longer wheel base and slacker head angle make it more stable, it feels more like a bike to me.
Not finished, but I think I might risk a trip to work tomorrow.

Blasted into work this morning, perfect weather really, no wind.
I need to swap the saddle, this is the Townshend original, which for a lump of rubber isn't at all comfy! I'll go back to the cheap Chinese 40's style thing I had on before, it's made of springs and squeaks, but is comfortable. I quite fancy something snazzy, like a rolls maybe?
Both brakes squeal if you try to stop rather than slow down, so that kept me awake!
But other than that, all super cool and groovy!
