Highlight was seeing Jens off the front. He's every club rider's favourite rider, a reet hardman and this is final tour.

Big cheer and applause at Harewood when Jens secured the Polka dot jersey.

Would like to have been on the climbs, but have parents in tow, so need to minimise hiking in to the viewing spot, people already starting to get positions in the centre of York!!!

Re:

A number of the riders are asking the crowds to stand back a bit, a couple have said they don't want to hit anyone at 50 to 60kph.

Re:

York town centre...getting busy despite the occasional shower.

Re:

Was at rollout in Leeds, rode on to finish in Harrogate. And right in the line atop Holme Moss.Been an amazing weekend. V prout to be from Yorkshire.

A few team cars down this end of the world looking for a travel lodge yesterday afternoon. And 30 odd camera bikes going down the A14 this morning

Re:

get out there LGF, you will be impressed

The stage into Sheffield, seeing them ride on our local roads round Bradfield was just awesome. Thomas tapping it out at the front on those hills after 100 miles was something else. I huff and puff outta the saddle after 10 miles.

Good result at the finish. Froome will have his days of glory later and I was personally glad not to see Sagan win.

Re:

Managed a photo of Sagan by pure chance on the rollout before Harewood House.

Also rode on to Harrogate once they gone past. Was quite fun riding along with the team buses and cars on the closed road. Bit disappointed not one of them offered me a sticky bottle tow. Even after the roads opened going back to Leeds after the finish there weren't many cars about. Really nice riding back with bikes massively outnumbering cars. Kudos to the young kids who were riding up Harewood Hill. Had a chuckle to myself as a portly middle aged skinsuited carbon dream machine warrior had to get off and walk just as a young girl on a clunky looking kids bike rode past him.

Was about 600m from the finish and chuffing 'eck they came down that hill quick. Was hoping Cancellara would hold them off but he seemed to look over his shoulder far too early to see what was happening behind him. Due to cheering of the riders still coming through we couldn't work out what had happened at the finish for a couple of minutes. Big screen was just out of sight so took a while for us to realise Cav had gone down heavily. Thought it was a really good atmosphere and was surprised at how many were out watching.

I came, I saw, I went home again.

Yorkshire put on a good show. "The grandest depart ever" to paraphrase M. Prudhomme.

Re:

Didn't make it to Pool for the Saturday outward leg after all....speaking of legs, mine were too spent from the ride up to Yorkshire on Friday (got as far as Rotherham before appreciable fatigue set in, train over to Selby from there, then bike again to York over mostly flat & easy terrain) so a long lie-in was called for. Got into a very crowded Harrogate town centre with 3 or 4-deep crowds on Saturday afternoon following a windswept ride over from York, stood about 2km out from the finish. Post race celeb-spotting included David Millar sitting outside a pub enjoying a pint with the ITV4 production crew, and Marcel Kittel in his yellow jersey sat in a team car doing some autograph signing for fans.

York was fractionally less busy - only just however - on Sunday and I got an OK vantage point near Exhibition Square, not much free tat being dished out by the publicity caravan (nice to see a bit of UK interest with Robinson's soft drinks, Yorkshire Tea and McCain Oven Chips all present!) though. The Lancaster bomber fly-past over the city centre was an unexpected bonus!

Unbeatable atmosphere both days and a brilliant weekend all round. Arrived back in the East Mids this afternoon laden with souvenirs, not to mention umpteen rolls of 35mm film waiting to be processed!
