Tour de France in Yorkshire... who's going?

Never thought of it like that, half the footie players would be banned for life thanks to the tabloids

Except football is the life blood of the Red Tops. They would never have the balls to investigate doping in football because the teams would retaliate by cutting off access to the players (see Fergie's petulant refusal to appear on Match of the Day for a couple of years after they investigated dodgy goings on by his son).

BTW, I had to go to Old Trafford Football ground for a work dinner a couple of weeks ago. In the bogs, there was a sign saying 'If you need to dispose of any hypodermic needles, please contact xxxxx'.

Ho hum....

Camping at Langsett and watching either from the top of Woodhead or Holme Moss - look out for an idiot on a lovely Ibis Mojo (weird Monkey Puke tan/brown/green colour) and say hello if you're about that way!

Hope everyone enjoys it. Was hoping to make it over but work deadlines scuppered my plans (even had a free palce to stay in York!).

What I'd really like to see is a proper one day classic race held in the UK.

There is the right terrain to hold a British version of Liege-Bastogne-Liege or the Tour of Flanders.

Hopefully if the Tour is a success people will pursue this.

Re:

im at the velofest campsite, look for a load of idiots dressed as french mime artists and shout longun if your there, beer will be flowing ;)

Re:

...and I guess if you spot anyone you'll just have to wave vigorously and hope they happen to look your way...

Re:

Pictures when I'm back home in the week. Was damned busy at Harewood, but managed to get front row spot, right in front of the big telly so got to watch it all live in sat in the sun.

Re:

Took kids onto Grinton moor. A fantastic atmosphere with big crowds and loadsa noise. The caravan was good, kids picked up loads of freebies. Highlight was seeing Jens off the front. He's every club rider's favourite rider, a reet hardman and this is final tour.

Bradfield tomorrow, much beer drinking will ensue and less than 5 miles from home
