Top fuel dragsters! New record

Above video caught at Santa Pod whilst I was there (for the first time) watching the top fuel dragsters. A great weekend!

The car in the right lane (as they run) puts down a new European records of 317mph beating the previous record by 3mph. Also the time was about 4.7 seconds. Kind of puts my own personal (RWYB) Santa Pod 1/4 mile time in my Skoda of 13.7 seconds @ 105mph to shame, although I didn't have to rebuild my engine after every 2 runs.... and I drove 200+ miles home after

Doesn't look like it. It looks like the car on the right suffers a bad case of exploding engine, and burns out in 2 minutes flat.

That's excellent time. I've seen cars that are much more expensive do the same and slower times.

And it was also into a headwind and with a poor (2.3 second) 60 foot time. Once the front wheels get grip the car takes off nicely. Just a shame I can't launch it (front wheel drive sucks)

was thinking about this 14 seconds to 100 mph is not to shabby for a taxi diesel thing
about on par with a 250 cc 2t motor cycle

Except mine is more like 13. It needs under a second or so for that extra 5mph.
