Nasty to lose tools, especially a new saw, and not even had a go :cry:
That said, it is one of those non riving knife affairs :? A scary proposition on a kickback, and more likely :?
I got a new triton one,same blade size and it also has no riving knife, and that was the reason i sold it straight on. Didnt even use it.

When the got the replacement saw out and started using it,it must have took me half the day before I even noticed it didn't have a riving knife! It was cutting that well(brand new blade in soaking wet 9x2 roof joists!)
As with most tools, I firmly believe that you get what you pay for, I bought a cheap circular saw once to cut a door down.never used it again.

Na, you want black and decker jigsaw like mine, the on but is posituoned on the handle so when you pick it up, inevitably you turn it on, ******* dangerous if you ask me, ok, so b and d saved a few pence on not having an interlock switch but you need to be a dick end of the highest calibre to put the switch where it is.

I quite like the Bosch stuff,pretty sturdy and reasonably priced.I would've got a full cordless setup from them but via a massive stroke of luck I got a 6 piece Dewalt kit instead! (And a dab radio/charger)
I really like the festool stuff but i think some of the ancillaries are a bit on the steep side.(mind you it's not exactly cheap to begin with)
My home insurance wouldn't cover it as the car wasn't on my the property. :facepalm: I did once try to get a quote to cover my tools and it was more than they all cost to buy.
