Danish wages without danish prices. What's not to like?

BTW make sure they're not charging you the equivalent of Council tax and church levy....

The disposable income diminishes somewhat when you have to spend it here....

Well the meeting went well. This was interview 2 of 3. Still some distance to go. I shall hear back at the end of the week/early next week whether they are interested in taking me further.

I may have to have a chat to some of you about the old tax issue. And exactly where I should be negotiating my wage to so that after tax I end up having a payrise over my take home here.

A nice starting point would be confirmation of the tax bands. I saw the discounted Expat tax rate that had me excited until I saw how much you need to be on before you qualify.

I also understand theres a discount for foreigners occupying scientific positions, and am wandering if the role I am looking at could be included.

Probably still getting way ahead of myself, but hey.

i sort of hope you get it! i know that sounds like sitting on the fence with regards to your decision, but i'd be in the same boat, i'd love to do it (work in another country) but i'd be filling my pants deciding whether to or not!

i was offered a job running a bike workshop in Morristown NY a few years ago, sort of regret not taking it, but then i'd hate to leave england.

the thing that would worry me most though is where to live, obviously the wage/tax is important but where i'd live would be the biggest issue for me.

good luck either way though :D

I went through all that when moving to London. Unlike anywhere else I have lived, it doesn't really do segregated good/bad areas. It is much more street by street. Move to one road and you cant find a space to park your V'dub because of all the Masarati's . Move to the next and you wont make it from your parked golf to the front door without being setup on by a pitbull and the chav that it drags along with it on a lead.

I don't know what position you'd be in as a Brit working in Copenhagen but there's an awfull lot of Danes living in Malmö just across the bridge in Sweden and working in Copenhagen..one big fat tax fiddle to their advantage..cheaper houses, rent etc ..earning Danish salaries and living in(to them)low cost Sweden.

I have a friend in Malmo who has mentioned this to me. Worth looking at.
