....stuck at work with no customers, what a waste of a day when I could be out riding. Made the best of it by spending hours polishing up another (my size) Dean Colonel that came to me all sad and 'oxidised'.
I'm rather happy with the result :D

Thanks chaps.....Steve, I don't know where I'm going with this one yet. I don't like gears but I don't need another singlespeed. 1x9 maybe
I suppose this will do as a starting point 8)

it definitely needs some 'speeds, maybe Morati Ti cranks with a 1x/7/8/9 like you say... 8)

Lovely Dean post, I got one of them on my Litey, but satin finish, and Gils repalcement DEAN decals come highly recommended... 8) 8)

Looking good!

1 x 9 speed on a Ti bike... just done the very same with my Ti frame :D

I like the simplicity of it, just a few gears for the times a singlespeed just isn't the right bike for the job

Are you going to run any sort of chainguide?

I was recommended to by several 1 x 7/8/9spd riders & have fitted a modern e13 XCX ST chain guide, as a lot of modern ones need to be mounted with an external BB

It kinda looks out of place a bit to me, but if it keeps my chain on & stops my necessary and obvious having a close encounter with the stem it's staying on!

I have used a Pauls Chain Keeper in the past...sold it to a friend he didn't mount it, so could probably get it back...thing is he has been riding 1x9 with no guide and no problem....not sure how rough the terrain he has been riding but neither will I be hitting the rough stuff...is it really needed?

I wish I knew if it was really needed!

I guess the main factor in deciding that is the terrain you ride & how you ride it.

I looked at the Paul Chain Keeper, but we don't stock those, so I went for the e13 XCX ST, even at trade it's damn expensive (another reason for actually using it!)

I'm not the most graceful of riders, and I do ride some techy stuff and in SPD's so I went for it & fitted one

If your mate rides the same stuff as you then you may get away without it, especially if you ride flats (not clips/clipless)
