I was thinking of offering it as a suspension seatpost, with different type woods for compression & rebound rates, willow through to teak

I didnt build the bodge b.t.w. my mates were wetting themselves as they started it, amazed it actually worked!.. well kept the saddle up, still twisted side to side slightly..

Miguel Martinez broke his frame on a stage of the MTB Tour de France .

The down tube broke a few inches from the junction with the head tube .
he used a wooden stick to hold it together and finished the stage like that .

tim gould 10yrs earlier broke a hyperlite bar & used some side of course race tape & a logo tied together to finish ;)

but hey, my seatpost was at least relevant to the spare seatcolar thing ;)

Some female pro, her name escapes me but she rode for Klein, her seatpost snapped within the first mile or so of a Worlds event back in the mid-90's, but rode the whole event standing up and won!
There was an article about it/her in MBUK.

Feeh! That's NOWT........we all remember stage 7 of the 1971 Tour de France, where Eddy Mercckkkxxxxx snapped his forks, slipped his chain, and had his head brutally torn off, and still won.............

And there's Mr Landis, winnin' the tour despite needin' a hip replacement............errrr.........ummm...........right enough...........

Don't joke. I did at MM. Mine was looking a bit aged, and the bolt was a bit bendy,so I brought another in the saddle bag. (Just in case)

for once i'm not gonna take the pi$$. seatcolar bolt snapped without warning a few weeks back & couldnt get the broken end out! bodge pic actually worked in getting me the 12miles home!

What do you have to tipex out of gusset to get your name Wu-Tangled ?

a ha, you'll have to wait and see. It's in the 36th chamber of Wu; For he shall tippex out two of the letters of his Shaolin name and become the master of the Wu Tang style.

:D
